To support women in transition by providing appropriate interview and work attire to help them be confident and prepared for career and employment opportunities.
In 2000, Dreams to Reality (DTR) was established by local women in an effort to help disadvantaged women secure interview and career appropriate attire. The not-for-profit was set up by taking donated clothing and gifting them to women through a referral process. Initially, this was a very limited effort. In time DTR has grown into the strong reliable agency known today.
DTR has expanded its services to include not only interview clothing but a week's worth of clothing suitable for many work environments. Over the years, DTR has also grown into an agency that helps women who are not only low income but are at critical phases in their life, which includes many different degrees of hardship.
In February of 2016, with the move to 500 Jefferson Street, retail space was added to help serve the community with very affordable work attire. Items donated by the community which do not meet the needs of our clients are available for purchase at reasonable prices. The Boutique offers for sale to the general public a wide variety of quality made selections including dresses, jackets, pants, tops, purses belts, scarves, jewelry and formal wear.
Funds generated by retail sales are used to purchase required employment standard items not ordinarily donated, including steel-toe/non-skid shoes, industry scrubs, and specific clothing sizes.
